Phew, a cat would lose her kittens!

You have to admit that for a little over a year, we have been at the mercy of this dear virus. Not only has it prevented us from seeing the people we are closest to, but it has taken many of them with it and this is a great sadness.

However, we are now about to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Children are no longer wearing masks in class, gatherings are beginning to be allowed, albeit with some restrictions, but these are very acceptable. All family activities outside the bubble were forbidden until now and now our Prime Minister Mr. Legault announces that we will finally be able to meet people we haven’t seen in so long to share an aperitif, a meal or a sporting activity. It’s like a breath of fresh air on our beautiful summer. The restaurants and terraces will be ready to welcome us again.

Remember that last winter, we the outfitters of the small fishes of the channels of the Sainte-Anne River, had a very particular season compared to our usual one. We had to put a cross on our evening and night numbers and we could only welcome family bubbles of a maximum of 8 people. More often than not, families arrived with either 3 or 4 people including children, sometimes up to 6 people but this was not the majority. So there was not the influx of people that we were used to see in our beautiful

beautiful ice village. The families who normally gather with the children had to have their own little chalet and could not visit each other inside. Only outdoor games with the distance of 2 meters were allowed. People still found a way to have fun and that is what is important.

With the good news from our government and public health, we can finally look forward to a return to normal life. We will surely be very careful for a long time to come and this is a very good thing. Let’s hope that many of the best habits will remain in place from now on.

This episode of life, although very constraining and worrying, will have allowed us to take a break and I hope to appreciate our daily life even when it is very ordinary.
