How nice to be able to socialize after spending a few months in confinement. In fact, I think we all wish we could be out of the whirlwind that has worried many and continues to worry many. Everyone went there because they thought it would do them good and comfort them. Some even discovered a Samaritan soul, which delighted some others. In any case, everyone will have learned their lesson and maybe everything will have changed from now on in the way we live together in our society. The future will tell us, but it is certain that what we all experienced was really unknown and no one was prepared to face it. In our small village of Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, we were fortunate not to have been really affected by this pandemic and not to have lost anyone in our community to COVID 19. Personally, we, the outfitters, appreciated having the time to finish our fishing season for small fish in the channels before the land stopped turning or almost stopped turning. It sounds selfish on our part, but it’s not without empathy for the other businesses that paid the price. We have come together, the outfitters and the Ste-Anne’s River Management Committee, to take stock of the upcoming cod fishing season in order to make the necessary decisions on how this season will unfold and to establish the measures that need to be put in place to ensure the safety of all, starting with you, dear clients and friends. I will be coming back to you in a future blog to share our conclusions following this meeting. For now, enjoy this wonderful summer and be very careful!
