We, the outfitters of the Ste-Anne River in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, are all part of an association. Therefore, when something happens to one of us, we are all affected. We are of course competitors but all this in a very friendly atmosphere.

On Saturday, April 4th of this year 2020, a fellow outfitter accidentally left us.  It is Nicolas Baril, co-owner of the Baril Fishing Center, a person esteemed by all of us and by our municipality.   Nicolas was not only a good outfitter but he was also a landscaper by profession.  He left us at the age of 43, leaving behind a spouse, mother of two boys whom he loved like his own, as well as his parents and three sisters.

Since his early childhood, Nicolas was involved in the family outfitting business.  He was a proud competitor and a person of integrity, so it was without fear of disappointment that when we were no longer available, we would refer our clients to him knowing that they would be treated as well as at the Mario Leduc Fishing Center.

In these times of pandemic, we know that the fishing season for small fish in the 2020-2021 channels is likely to be quite different, but it will also be different following the departure of our fellow outfitter Nicolas.

I leave you with the advice to keep courage in the circumstances because it is said that after the storm always comes the good weather.  The good weather has arrived and with it the gradual deconfinement so all hopes are allowed.

We, outfitters in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, remain hopeful and are preparing for a strong comeback in December 2020.  Be confident and have fun!
