At the end of each fishing season for the fish of the Chenaux, at the Mario Leduc Fishing Center at least, we do a retrospective of the fishing season that is ending and the things that should or should not be done or redone. Well, for this 2024-2025 season, we came to the conclusion that this is one where really almost nothing would need to change.

On the weather side, Mother Nature was quite accommodating despite the few millimeters of rain that fell at the end of December as well as the light snowfalls that were discreet from December to mid-February.

However, she made up for it when the fishing season ended by blanketing the landscape with some snowfalls, thus bringing joy to all the other winter sports enthusiasts. The snowmobile trails and ski slopes, which until now had been a little miserable, were able to resume their activities with renewed vigor, and that’s great because the sun shines for everyone.

In any case, to summarize the ice fishing season in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, this winter was the most satisfying in recent years because we were able to start on the agreed-upon date, December 26, something that hadn’t happened in a few years. Families, including ourselves, were able to enjoy the good times of the Christmas holidays.

For families and friends, it was an opportunity to meet and practice a winter sport despite the snow shortage, and for us, it was a nice economic benefit for our municipality of Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade because, to be honest, these benefits are considerable for all the local businesses.

To conclude, although the years follow each other, they don’t always look the same, as a provider of fishing for the small fish of the Chenaux on the Ste-Anne River in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, we allow ourselves to wish that the next season will resemble, in every way or almost, the one that has just ended.

So, we’ll see you soon to catch the little fish!
